Baby Jacob really liked the beach much better this year. However he wanted to spend most of his time in the "baby pool" also known as a swimming pool. He loves the water and have no fear at all.

Ben and I have made a mistake with Jacob. I bought a huge bag of dumb dumb suckers and now Jacob thinks he has to have one all of the time. I will admit that suckers really do help when you are in a resturant and Jacob is getting anxious.

I just had to post about how sweet Jacob's teachers are at school. Mrs. Karen, Mrs. Vicki, and Miss Katy are the best! Baby Jacob has loved birds since he was 6 months old. We have numerous pictures of him feeding or calling birds. Well, Mrs. Karen noticed that Jacob was always going to the window looking for birds and decided to come up with a craft for the kids to do to attract BIRDS. So here is a picture of the bird feeders that they made and hung on the tree outside their class window. A fun craft of bread and Cherrios. I love it!!!

I was so touched that his teachers are so in tune with what the children like and create crafts around those interests!!! We are so blessed to have such a great Godly place for our sweet baby boy to go and learn and play. God is so good!!

PS- if you ask Baby Jacob what his name is....he will simply say "Baby".

Do you think it's time to stop calling him Baby Jacob???? I just can't!!!

WOW...it's been a very long time

Well...Well...Well...So it comes as no surprise that I have not updated the blog in over 5 months!!! Well, a lot has happened since then and I wanted to post a ridiculous amount of pictures. Hope you all enjoy!!! Baby Jacob is now 19 month and is wonderful!!! He is so full of life and a constant joy. Ben and I have never been happier or more blessed. PS- blogger is so slow at uploading pictures which is enough headache alone for me not to update the blog. Any tips on updating pictures faster would be greatly appreciated!!! Happy and Blessed New Year Friends!!!! Love y'all!!!

Halloween group picture...my child is the one that is about to escape.

I have had that pleasure of having 2 weeks off of work with Baby Jacob this Christmas Season. One morning we spilled the entire box of fruit loops, broke a coffee cup, found a Christmas present, and managed to shut himself in a dark bathroom for 30 seconds while I answered the phone. Did I mention that all happened within 15 minutes. So fun!!!

No...We have not fallen off of the face of the earth, but we have been busy!!! This is sweet Baby Jacob's 11 month picture. It is so hard to believe the he is 14 months now. He love his "track-tor" and is going to be country boy!!!

Yeah Ben!!! This was the first time that Ben ran the Gum Tree and he did great!!! Finished that 10K in under and hour!!!

So sad to say that we had to cancel Jacob's First Birthday Party due to Hand, Foot, Mouth ( another illness) the day before his party. Oh well..I was sad for a while, but I did not want to get all of his little friends sick. Next year we are going all out and getting a pony. Ha, Ha.

What we are sick again??? Not Possible!!

Where in the world do I begin??? The last month has been a world wind. First of all at the beginning of April baby Jacob had pneumonia, a six day stomach virus, and an ear infection all at the same time. We were all sick!!! However, God is good and we all made it though. Baby Jacob has even gained the two pounds that he lost back. Most recently (Tuesday night) Baby Jacob was running a 103.5 due to tonsillitis. Thank the Lord for our awesome doctor, Dr. Sheffield. We love her, her partner Dr. Godi, and her precious staff!!!

I have also been training for my new job. I had forgotten what the Lee County Library looked like on the inside, but now since I have been there all day for the last 3 weeks, I am quite familiar with the Mississippi room located upstairs to the right. I even have a librarian friend. I also realized that I don’t remember the faintest thing about searching card catalogs to locate books. I am so excited about my new job, but I hate to leave my sweet husband and precious baby boy for 3 weeks. Boo.

Multiple times people have asked me if I am nervous about leaving Baby Jacob with Ben for three weeks, and let me be very clear….NO I AM NOT!!! Ben is as capable and can do anything I can do. He is very involved and for that I am so thankful. He is so intentional about letting us know how much he cares and loves us.
So to Ben….You are such a good Dada and I am so blessed to have you as my husband. God could not have given me anymore.

Our first Easter as a Family! Easter was such a great weekend. Ben and I watched the Passion of the Christ Saturday before Easter Sunday and although tough to watch....it made Easter Sunday so special and truly touching. Thank you Jesus for saving us!!!

Yep!!! That is dirt in my mouth!!!

I am all boy!!!

Okay…so I never promised to update regularly, but I had hoped to do better than 5 weeks. In my defense, it has been a very long, stressful, and blessed 5 weeks. I (Liz), with much prayer and encouragement decided to take a new job. Baby Jacob has had and is just beginning to recover from pneumonia and a rotavirus like bug….which by the way has infected Memomma, Mamaw, Ben, and myself (the bug not pneumonia). I know that it couldn’t possibly be the rotavirus because we had that two weeks after we had RSV in January. Thank God for our super fabulous pediatrician, Dr.Mary Ann Sheffield. I don’t know what we would do without her and all of our sweet family. When they said that it takes a village to raise a child…they were not kidding.
On a lighter note, Baby Jacob is changing so fast. He has recently learned to pull up and is crawling everywhere. The other day I caught him half way up the stairs and not five minutes later I was fishing out Maggie’s dog food from his little mouth. Yummy!! Needless to say our little man is very busy. He wants to talk so badly, and I just can’t wait to hear what he has to say. So far our vocabulary consists of 1. Dada 2. MaMa 3. Bye Bye 4. Poofs (which really means puffs, but in our unique family we call them poofs) We really are so so blessed!!! God is so good!!!

Dada got a brand new ride!!! A lot of people in our neighborhood drive their golf carts around the circle and chat with all the people that are out and about. Well, we don't have a golf cart so I asked Ben if we could ride our new RIDING lawn mower around that circle and visit with our neighbors. Guess what he said. ha,ha.

I know that I am a little behind on the entire blogging world!!! So I decided I would upload some pictures of baby Jacob from day 1 until through 9 months. It is so crazy that my sweet baby boy is 9 months old. Where does the time go?? I have tried to make a point to savor every moment with him because I know one day he will be 18 years old and off to college.

Side note-he better go to college!!!

Then Ben and I will look at each other and wonder how it went so fast. What am I saying...we already do this!!!!
So here are a few or many of my favorite milestone pictures. Hope you enjoy. There are tons...but 9 months of life has happened that I have not been blogging about. Just consider yourself caught up.PS- going forward with this blogging thing...a few things you need to know about my writing style.
1. I write like I talk!!!
2. I am a terrible speller. 3rd grade spelling bee at South Pontotoc made that point very clear!!!
3. I hate grammar rules and will probably break many of them with this blog...mostly because of number 1.

One of my dearest friends is an English teacher in Southaven and I am going to go ahead and apologize to her publicly. Sorry MKR. If she knew my password I guarantee that she would break into my blog and correct my writings. True story.Hope y'all have a great day.

PS-There is the sweetest picture of baby Jacob’s Mimi (Ben’s momma) and it will not load. It is one of my favorite pictures.

Maggie wants to get in the tub with Baby Jacob. Every night when we give him a bath she comes in the bathroom and hangs her head over in the tub. Silly dog.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today was Baby Jacob and Kendall's first date. They had a great time holding hands and playing. The menu for the night included milk, apples and apricots, and mashed potatoes. It was super fun. We had a great time cooking out at Kellye and Chet's house. ps--I'm being tutored on this whole blog thing...hopefully, there will be more to follow! Happy Valentine's day to all!
